A week ago we held our 2nd Annual Statewide Membership Assembly. Close to 100 leaders came together to transcend historic divisions of race, partisanship and geography - from the Appalachian mountains of Allegany to Baltimore’s segregated and disinvested neighborhoods to the suburban homeless encampments that dot a hidden Carroll County landscape. 

At the membership assembly we decided on a campaign framework around the Right to Health. We are seeing how poverty is causing real harm, shortening our lives. Like all of our past campaigns, phase one starts with building our base, documenting and exposing the problem, and developing collective demands. There is no skipping this crucial step. And so armed with this new framework, the groundwork phase begins!

In the lead up to the membership assembly we raised $3,295 from 24 donors. Our goal is to raise $10,000 by the new year so that we can continue to cross these historic lines of division around race, partisanship, and geography AND in 2024 launch our Right to Health Campaign from the Appalachian Mountains to the Eastern Shore.
