United Workers is a Maryland-based multiracial poor people’s human rights organization helping to build a movement to end poverty for everyone, everywhere. We agitate around the belief that our basic human needs are human rights and that every person is entitled to respect and dignity. We focus on developing leaders from the ranks of the poor through human rights struggle, base-building organizing, and political education.
Who We Are
We are a membership organization made up and led by poor and working class people in Maryland who are uniting across race, geography, political party, and all other lines of division to demand our human right to freedom from poverty. We know our power comes from organizing and developing ourselves as committed leaders in a broader movement to end poverty.
